Conceptual Idea

Well my final idea was to do a series on suicide and the effect that is caused on everyone, not only the person who commits suicide. It would be done with location lighting and a series of models, to show the cause and effect, so i was thinking about using diptychs to show that with a photo of the actual act and then a photo of the harm it has caused on a close friend or on a family member. Let me know what you think?

  1. Consider less information in regards to the act and push your focus to the emotional/mental space that leads to the break of suicide and the same for the piece left to be pickup after.

  2. Interesting lighting may be a key role in your assignment. It would really help with the dramatic theme. I feel like if you could get the point across with out being so literal and showing the actual act it might be more effective.

  3. I think the act is less important and possibly not necessary to show the effect on people. Maybe explore they way people approach the family that's effected, like the excess of food and flowers brought to a family's home. Maybe explore what people do with ones processions once their gone.

  4. I think showing the side effects would be better. It could be cool if you set it up like still lifes of things that happen, as opposed to shooting actual figures or have them out of focus in the backgorund. A bottle of pills, the cards food and flowers on a front hall table ect. The lighting could reflect the mood.
Overall, whatever you end up doing I'm sure will work.
